What's not to love about Citarella!!!! Excellent food choices, fresh everything and the bread is off the charts! Don't go hungry, you might go broke .

I love shopping at this place. I buy French ham, fresh bread, desserts, and fresh produce here, and everything is always great quality. They also have a wonderful variety of cheeses. All the employees have a true vocation and passion for helping customers. The cashier, Sonia, always greets everyone with an amazing smile, and Gloria is wonderful and sometimes even warms up my bread. The manager, Ive, is always willing to help, even when she is very busy. I truly enjoy coming to this place!

Expensive but excellent all around! The best produce, seafood, butcher, and bakery in the area. Very convenient to have the liquor store next door. One stop shopping for a special meal.

Citarella is a small supermarket but oh man, the meat section is just awesome! They've got some amazing dry aged beef as well as some wagyu steaks ( NY was the one i spotted) the sea section is añso really great with some fresh alive lobsters and a great otger varoety of stuff. It is an expe sive supermarket though, don't come here on a budget.

Absolutely splendid!  I must admit, I approached the sausage and peppers with a hint of skepticism. As a proud Sicilian, my taste buds are notoriously finicky when it comes to anyone else’s culinary creations—except, of course, our beloved grandmothers’. But oh, what a delightful surprise awaited me! The combination of flavors was nothing short of amazing—worth every hard-earned penny. Imagine this: a medley of peppers—each with its own distinct personality—sweet onions dancing harmoniously, and a red sauce that had been kissed by the culinary gods themselves. The seasoning was impeccable, a symphony of taste that left me yearning for more. And then, my dear friend, dessert beckoned. Tiramisu, delicate and ethereal, whispered promises of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and clouds of mascarpone. And the pièce de résistance—the creme brulee, its caramelized top yielding to a creamy custard beneath. Both nestled in charming clay pots, as if they were little treasures waiting to be discovered. Freshness enveloped each bite, and I couldn’t help but smile. These delectable delights were worth every single penny spent. So, my fellow gastronomes, heed my words: venture forth, savor the flavors, and let your taste buds dance. For in those clay pots lies pure magic.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Citarella CT as part of the team, and I must say that I will definitely be returning as a customer. The space is impeccably maintained, and the staff goes above and beyond to provide exceptional service in every aspect. During my visit, I indulged in the fresh brick oven pizza and the quality was nothing short of spectacular. I love this place! I live in the New Haven area and travel to Greenwich just to shop here. Their seafood department is amazing, and the aged steaks from the butcher are first class! Add the gourmet cheese and vibrant produce and any foodie is in heaven. The staff is not only friendly and helpful, but they really know their stuff and are quick to offer help.

Truly one of the nicest grocery stores I have ever had the pleasure of shopping at! The breads, desserts, sushi section, and meats are all wonderful. I would highly recommend the butter pecan cookies--they are probably my most favorite food! I was also very impressed with the sushi section...it was fresh and delicious. The prices are definitely a bit steep, so it is more of a treat to shop here (and less of a place for your everyday groceries....toilet paper, cheerios, etc.); it compares well with Whole Foods. However, if you are looking for something in particular, they are well staffed and stocked! I would highly recommend checking Citarellas out for some delicious finds!
